Holiday Home Tour & Boutique

The Holiday Home Tour is the PPJWC's most significant fundraising event. It takes place the second Sunday in November each year and features five architecturally distinctive homes in the Palisades . Local designers, artists, home-related vendors and florists make contributions to enhance the homes and reflect the season. All homes on the Tour offer a variety of decorating styles and will be sure to offer unique ideas for you to try in your own home.

One hundred percent of proceeds from the Holiday Home Tour and Boutique is awarded to local non-profit organizations in Pacific Palisades. In the past 10 years, PPJWC has donated nearly $1 million to both of our fire stations, all six public schools, Palisades Beautiful and many others. The Club invites all nonprofit groups serving the Palisades community to participate in our grant application program.

About the 2011 Home Tour

"Art Meets Architecture" The home of LA artist Ed Massey is a feast for the eyes with vivid colors set to the beautiful backdrop of the "708" architecturally-significant home. Originally built in 1948, the home was renovated in the 1980s by award-winning architect Eric Owen Moss, and has not previously been opened to the public.

"Spanish Sensation" This newly built Spanish Colonial Revival with tranquil ocean views is decorated in a mix of contemporary and traditional styles with an emphasis on textures, through plush rugs and lavish chair coverings. Everything is done with an eye to complement the Spanish heritage of the home. A "smart" residence, the owners can operate many of the homes features via an iPad.

"Napa Valley Mountain Retreat" With the backdrop of Will Rogers State Park, this home, built in 2011, is decorated for the holidays and exudes warmth and charm. It is a family-friendly home yet elegantly appointed with entertaining in mind. Larger-than-life living room windows bring the outside in. The young home owners did a large percentage of the design and finishing features themselves.

"Historic Hollywood on the Bluffs" Actor Charles Laughton was a previous owner of this estate offering dramatic 180-degree ocean views. In the 1940s, Marilyn Monroe and Shelley Winters studied acting here. The home has been featured in numerous magazine shoots, television shows and movies.

"California Cape Cod" 7,000 square feet of pure California-style Cape Cod is refreshing and bright. Built in 2006, the home boasts an outdoor movie theater, several dining and lounging areas with canyon and ocean views, and a rock waterfall splashing into the pool and spa.

FREE HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE:
Before or after viewing the homes, guests are invited to take care of their holiday shopping at the Holiday Boutique. The boutique is free to the public and open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mercer Hall in the Pacific Palisades Charter High School, located at 15777 Bowdoin St. Along with 50 unique vendors, a "Taste of the Palisades" will feature local restaurants Gladstones, K Bakery, Maison Giraud, Mogans Café, Pinocchio in Cucina and Taste selling their most popular entrees to be enjoyed while shopping or for a lunch break. Entertainment is planned throughout the afternoon: Fancy Feet is scheduled to perform from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; Oom Pa Pa Band from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; and, The Alpers Jazz Band from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
